Arthur Possing est un jeune pianiste luxembourgeois, né en 1996 dans une famille où la musique joue depuis toujours un rôle important. Il a débuté la percussion classique à 6 ans et le piano classique à 10 ans, étudiant plus tard auprès du célèbre pianiste Jean Muller. En 2009, Arthur a commencé à étudier le piano jazz avec Marc Mangen et en 2011 le vibraphone avec Guy Cabay. En 2016, il commence des études de piano jazz au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles avec Eric Legnini. C’est en 2013 que se crée le Arthur Possing Quartet. Ses membres se sont rencontrés à l’école secondaire et ont rapidement commencé à jouer ensemble régulièrement. 

Depuis 2017, les musiciens composant le quartet sont originaires d’Allemagne, de France et du Luxembourg et ont étudié au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, au Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood près de Paris et à la Musikhochschule Mannheim. Leur répertoire se compose à la fois de compositions propres et d’airs de jazzmen appréciés. En 2017, ils ont sorti leur premier album ‘Four Years’, paru en mars 2018 sur le label belge Hypnote Records. Il a été bien accueilli par le public et la presse et a été sélectionné parmi les « Hits » à Couleurs Jazz en France.

Arthur Possing is a young Luxembourgish pianist, born in 1996 into a family in which music has always played a significant role. He started classical percussion at the age of 6 and classical piano at the age of 10, later in the class of well-known pianist Jean Muller. In 2009, he began studying jazz piano with Marc Mangen and vibraphone in 2011 with Guy Cabay. In 2016, he began further studies in jazz piano at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles with Eric Legnini. The Arthur Possing Quartet was originally formed in 2013. Its members met in high school and soon started playing together regularly.

Since 2017, the musicians are originally from Germany, France and Luxembourg and have studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood near Paris and the Musikhochschule Mannheim. Their repertoire consists both of own compositions and tunes of appreciated jazzmen. In 2017, the quartet released their first album ‘Four Years’, which was released in March’18 on the Belgian label Hypnote Records. It was well acclaimed by the audience and press and won “Hits” at Couleurs Jazz in France.
