REMBRANDT FRERICHS TRIO + HERMINE DEURLOO

Rembrandt Frerichs est un aventurier du piano reconnu. Sa musique respire l’énergie du jazz improvisé et le lyrisme de la musique orientale, une « musique du futur où l’oreille fait franchir toute limite » (Trouw, journal néerlandais). En 2014, son album a été nominé pour un Grammy néerlandais, le Edison Award. Tony Overwater est l’un des bassistes les plus en vue des Pays-Bas. Le musicien et compositeur polyvalent est ancien lauréat du plus important prix de jazz des Pays-Bas, le Boy Edgarprijs. Le batteur et percussionniste-innovateur Vinsent Planjer est connu pour sa dynamique subtile et son approche mélodique.

En trio, les musiciens ont donné de nombreux concerts dans le monde entier, impressionnant le public par leur jeu presque télépathique. Hermine Deurloo, inspirée de Toots Thielemans, transforme l’harmonica chromatique en véritable instrument de jazz. Depuis 2013, Hermine Deurloo et Rembrandt Frerichs se produisent ensemble à l’harmonica chromatique et au piano. Ils apportent un mélange d’improvisation passionnante, de mélodies fortes et leurs propres compositions.

Rembrandt Frerichs is recognized by the international press as an adventurer on the piano and a master of his instrument. In his music, you can hear the energy of improvised jazz and the lyricism of Oriental music. He plays “music of the future where boundaries disappear from the ear” (Trouw, a Dutch newspaper). He’s played in the legendary Jazz Club Birdland in New York and his music has taken him around the world. In 2014, his album was nominated for a Dutch Grammy, the Edison Award. Tony Overwater is one of Holland’s most prominent bass players, a versatile musician, composer and former winner of The Netherlands’ most important jazz award, Boy Edgarprijs. Drummer and percussion-innovator Vinsent Planjer is known for his subtle dynamics and melodic approach to drums. Hermine Deurloo, inspired by Toots Thielemans, playfully turns the chromatic harmonica into a real jazz instrument.

Hermine Deurloo and Rembrandt Frerichs have been performing together on the chromatic harmonica and piano since 2013. Together, they perform a mixture of exciting improvisation, strong melodies and their own compositions.
