The quintet The Minor MAJORS is composed of jazz and blues-loving musicians who are on a quest for the sounds of 1950s hardbop while adding a contemporary touch. The compositions of this quintet are captivating thanks to their musical vision anchored in joy, groove, and energy. The personal compositions are classic, yet fresh and inventive. This is a sound that allows to dive straight into the 1950s world, enabling the listener to live the flamboyant, intense music and rediscover it from a new perspective. 

Paul Fox first studied saxophone and then started playing percussion. Trained at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Mannheim and in New York he has released two albums, Submerging and Emerging (Jazz'n Arts, 2013), Breaking the Silence (Odradek Records, 2013). He supports many projects as a bandleader, composer, teacher and drummer.

Jitz Jeitz, not yet a dinosaur, but already a vintage saxophonist on the Luxembourg jazz scene, has made his mark on the jazz scene. He studied in Luxembourg, Strasbourg and Liège and has been performing since the 80s with almost all the local heroes of the country and the Greater Region. In 2003 he was a member of the EBU-Bigband in residence in Istanbul. He is the attributed saxophonist-clarinetist of the Marly Marques Quintet and a member of the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra.

Georges Soyka started playing the trumpet with Olivier Gravier and continued his trumpet studies at the Conservatory of the City of Karlsruhe and the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He teaches classical and chamber music trumpet at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg and continues to play different styles in various ensembles such as Luxembourg Jazz Messengers, Orkester Konterbont... 

Arthur Possing was introduced to jazz piano by Marc Mangen and started playing vibraphone with Guy Cabay. He perfected his jazz piano skills at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Eric Legnini. The Arthur Possing Quartet has released two albums, Four Years (2018) and Natural Flow (2021), on which it demonstrates its musical diversity in its multiple projects, while leaving a clear and recognisable mark. 

Laurent Peckels is a bass player, teacher and developer of applications. He is active in both pop/rock and jazz and appears with many different bands. A new multimedia project, The Aquatic Museum, will be launched in 2022 with composer and singer Claire Parsons. At the Amsterdam Conservatory, Laurent is currently studying South Indian rhythmic techniques.

Le quintet The Minor MAJORS se compose de musiciens amoureux du jazz et du blues qui sont à la recherche des sons du Hard Bop des années 50’ en y ajoutant une note contemporaine. Les compositions de ce quintet séduisent par leur vision musicale ancrée dans la joie, le groove et l’énergie. Dans une veine classique, les compositions personnelles sont d’une grande fraicheur et d’une grande inventivité. Une sonorité qui permet de plonger dans l’univers des années 50’, de revivre l’intensité de cette musique flamboyante et de la d couvrir sous un angle charismatique.

Un nouveau projet multimédia, The Aquatic Museum, sera lancé en 2022 avec la compositrice et chanteuse Claire Parsons. Au Conservatoire d’Amsterdam, Laurent étudie actuellement les techniques rythmiques d'Inde du Sud.
