C’est à la fois politiquement sérieux et parfait pour les pistes de danse. Le chanteur Kushal Gaya scande ses déclarations apocalyptiques en différentes langues. La musique de Melt Yourself Down parle aux sens, elle a un goût et une odeur. Comme un mélange entre incantations post-punk, funk discordant et vaudou sonique. Le style, qui entremêle jazz, rock et world music, est imprégné des paysages désertiques d’Afrique du Nord et de la faune underground new yorkaise. Sur scène, ils sont une tempête tropicale.

Evangelical peddlers of  post-punk exotica, Melt Yourself Down join in communion of North African influences and shamanic vocals. Formed by saxophonist Pete Wareham, they number in their ranks some of the finest musicians of their generation. Their freewheeling live shows became the stuff of legend. Melt Yourself Down is a vivacious, phantasmagorical melting pot, insanely full of ebullient energy and crazy ideas, shaky infectious hooks and addictive grooves. The band plays like a whirling dervish, brutally catchy and propulsive, with chaotically synchronised horns, clattering drums and a thumping punk rock bassline. This is a revolutionary, riotous festival of noise and colour and rhythm, driven by peppered, serpentine sax motifs that double each other, slither off on maniacal flights, and rejoin in unison.
