ENRICO PIERANUNZI 4TET feat. SEAMUS BLAKE

Enrico Pieranunzi fait incontestablement parti des musiciens les plus importants et les plus reconnus du jazz international. Influencé par Charlie Parker, Claude Debussy et la musique populaire romaine, Pieranunzi fait partie, avec Keith Jarrett et Bill Evans, des musiciens qui ont repoussé les limites du piano. Pianiste, compositeur et arrangeur, il a enregistré environ 80 albums sous son propre nom : Il a notamment collaboré avec Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Paul Motian, Charlie Haden, Chris Potter, et Joey Baron. Pieranunzi a été nommé Artiste de l’année italien trois fois par le sondage sur les critiques du magazine Musica Jazz (1989, 2003, 2008). Il a également remporté le prix français Django d’Or en 1997 en tant que « Meilleur musicien européen » en 1997 et le prix allemand Echo Jazz en 2014 en tant que «Meilleur artiste de clavier international». Pieranunzi a joué sa musique dans les festivals internationaux les plus prestigieux. Il a également été régulièrement présenté dans les clubs les plus importants de New York, en particulier le Village Vanguard, où en juillet 2010 il a enregistré l’album Live at the Village Vanguard avec Marc Johnson et Paul Motian. 

Enrico Pieranunzi is one of the best-known and appreciated personalities on the European jazz scene. He  worked with many top players including Chet Baker, Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Charlie Haden, Jim Hall, Lee Konitz and Phil Woods. He leads his own groups with which he has played clubs and festivals all over the world. On July 2010 he performed at the legendary Village Vanguard, as the only Italian musician ever, and recorded live there, with Marc Johnson and Paul Motian.Seamus Blake is known as one of the best saxophone players of his generation. Following his graduation from Berklee, he won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition in 2002. As a leader/co-leader, he released 16 albums. He is also featured as a sideman on over 70 CDs. Over recent years, he has played with: Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Dave Douglas, Bill Stewart a.o. Seamus played on the 2015 Grammy nominated “Camino” by pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and is on six of the Grammy nominated Mingus Big Bands’ albums.
