Les premières expériences musicales de Reggie Washington ont commencé avec son frère, Kenny Washington, grand batteur international et passionné de Jazz. Reggie étudia d’abord la basse classique ensuite jazz ainsi qu’afro-cubaine. Dans son itinéraire musical, Reggie a partagé la scène et enregistré avec un grand nombre de musiciens exceptionnels. En commençant par les grands batteurs : Jimmy Cobb, Kenny Washington, Lenny White, Omar Hakim, Terri Lyne Carrington, Reggie a également partagé la musique de grands artistes tels que Branford Marsalis, Salif Keita, Cassandra Wilson, Ravi Coltrane, Steve Coleman, Roy Hargrove, Chico Hamilton, Lester Bowie, Will Smith & Artur Blythe. Depuis septembre 2005, après 20 ans d’expérience musicale, Reggie met en avant ses propres projets musicaux et il partage ce bonheur avec trois musiciens d’exception. Tout d’abord son fidèle complice, le saxophoniste belge  Fabrice Alleman, compagnon de scène de Steve Houben, Michel Herr et Terence Blanchard. Ensuite le fantastique clavieriste Bobby Sparks, révélé par Roy Hargrove & RH factor, est un des piliers des fameux Snarky Puppy, un des meilleurs groupes de fusion instrumentale du moment. Enfin, à la batterie, E.J. Strickland, leader d’un quintet acclamé aux USA et en Europe, mais qui a accepté de mettre ses talents au service de la musique de Reggie.

Bassist Reggie Washington was a key participant in the Modern Jazz revolution of the 80’s and 90’s. He became known touring, recording and performing with Jimmy Cobb, Lenny White, Omar Hakim, Steve Coleman, Branford Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Oliver Lake, Cassandra Wilson, Salif Keita, Will Smith, and Lester Bowie. In 2005, Reggie began successfully touring with his own bands, a mix of American and European musicians such as Ravi Coltrane, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, E.J Strickland, Jozef Dumoulin, Jason Lindner, Poogie Bell. Since 2015, Reggie has been touring throughout Europe with his new project "Rainbow Shadow - A tribute to Jef Lee Johnson". Reggie is a unique player, he is known for having the correct bass flavors for all musical genres. He plays Jazz, Funk, R&B, Blues, World and Experimental music with a natural and contagious energy. His bass lines are both sophisticated and explicit.
