Saxophoniste primé et MC, Soweto Kinch a fait forte impression dans les domaines du jazz et du hip-hop et fournit une liste impressionnante de prix dont 2 UMA Awards et deux MOBO (meilleur artiste jazz). Ses talents de MC et de producteur hip-hop lui valent la reconnaissance de KRS ONE, Dwele, TY, Mos Def ou Rodney P. ‘Nonagram’, le dernier album de Kinch, est une «exploration des mathématiques, de la géométrie et du son» qui incite selon Kinch à de nouvelles visions du monde environnant.

Le bassiste Nick Jurd vient de la scène artistique de Birmingham. Ayant travaillé avec des artistes du monde entier, son expérience de sideman couvre de nombreux styles de musique.

Trompettiste et compositeur floridien doué, petit-fils du Doc Cheathamand, protégé de Dee Dee Bridgewater, Theo Croker a une force créatrice phénoménale. En 2014, il a sorti ‘AfroPhysicist’, mélange bouillonnant de jazz, funk, soul, rock et hip-hop transcendé par une compréhension profonde et prodigieuse de la musique moderne.

Sans album sous son propre nom, le batteur américain Gregory Hutchinson a néanmoins joué un rôle décisif dans l’évolution du jazz durant les derniers 30 ans. Ayant travaillé avec de nombreuses stars, il se considère chanceux d’avoir été formé par de vieux maîtres tels que Red Rodney, Betty Carter, Ray Brown et Joe Henderson, et d’avoir joué aux côtés de Roy Hargrove ou Joshua Redman. Hutchinson se prépare actuellement à lancer son premier projet solo.

Multi-award-winning saxophonist, Soweto Kinch’s skills as a hip-hop MC and producer have also garnered him recognition, being championed by the likes of Mos Def or Rodney P. ‘Nonagram’, Kinch’s latest album project, is an exploration of maths, geometry and sound which, in his words, “injects a musical antidote, inspiring us to see new visions of the surrounding world”.

A gifted Floridian trumpeter and composer, grandson of Doc Cheathamand, protégé of Dee Dee Bridgewater, Theo Croker is a phenomenon of creative power. In 2014, he unveiled ‘AfroPhysicist’, a boiling blend of jazz, funk, soul, rock and hip-hop transcended by a deep, prodigious understanding of modern music.

Bass player Nick Jurd comes from a vibrant arts scene in Birmingham. His experience as a sideman spans across many styles of music, having worked with musicians and artists from all over the world.

Without a single album under his own name, the American drummer Gregory Hutchinson has nonetheless played a decisive role in shaping jazz over the last thirty years. Apart from the illustrious list of stars he has worked with, Hutch trained with old masters such as Red Rodney, Betty Carter, Ray Brown and Joe Henderson.
